Betting on Myself.

I grew up in Mumbai and left for college in 2011. Since then I've lived in Goa, Germany, Pune, New York, and Seattle, and I've called Vancouver home since late 2022. I studied computer science for my undergrad and master's, which probably explains why I keep coming back to building things.

In December 2025 I left Microsoft to take a sabbatical: partly to rest, and partly to give myself time to explore ideas outside a structured 9-to-5. I'd had the itch to build something of my own for a long time, but my side projects never survived alongside the demands of a full-time job. So I decided to give myself a year to see what happens when I actually give them the time they deserve.

I've always been fascinated by decisions made under uncertainty. Over the years I've spent a lot of time learning about markets and options, and more recently I've been taking poker seriously. What connects the two for me is the same underlying problem: making good decisions with incomplete information. It's also what led me to build HeroCall, an AI poker coach that helps low-stakes players review their hands and find weaknesses in their game.

Aviation has been a passion of mine for a long time. Flying gives me a sense of freedom and calm, and there's something magical about experiencing the world from the sky. I'm a licensed private pilot, and getting to pursue it further this year feels like a real privilege.

Growing up in the '90s, before the internet was everywhere, I spent most evenings and holidays outdoors playing cricket and soccer with friends. Somewhere around middle school, soccer won out, and I started following Arsenal around 2005, when Cesc Fàbregas was the young star I idolized. Soccer has carried me through some hard times. It's still my social outlet, and when I play, it's one of the few places where I can let go of everything and get completely lost in the game.
